I suggest the greater use of this blog for posting of notices and schedules for future meetings, activities other than the current method via email.

Replies can also be sent via email or alternatively posting at the comments option (to be enabled soon) or simply post at the tagboard. However, DO NOT MISUSE this option by spamming on the tagboard or posting undesirable/confidential content on the blog.

This is to faciliate the dissemination of information and to reduce bottlenecks and inefficiency.

Also a MSN or Yahoo Group may be set up for downloading stuff.

End of Year Venture EXCO meeting to be confirmed. Most probably last week of Nov. (tentative) Further information will be uploaded here and sent via email.

Pulau Ubin Trip Part 2

Glancing the sea as i took hold of the railing in the boat. Unfortunately, i was seated in the first boat with the scouts but not with the ventures. The boat startled a while upon approaching the landing bay. As the boat stablised itself, everyone was getting ready to embarked on a new journey. Hubert and Wei long went to find a van to see if we could use it to get to our destination. ( I wondered if i remebered correctly but i know they went off first) They came back soon after we revitalised ourselves. We paced step by step through the thick canopy of the forest. Numerous Mosquitoes ambushed us on the way to the area. Poor people that had push the jellycans to the area, i admit it is very tiring doing so.
Finally, we have encountered the resting place. I was quite elated at the place as we have a sea-view and a forest-view, a materialistic person would have similar "thoughts" too.( I am being sarcastic to materialistic person here) We have 3 rooms to ourselves but 1 was to used for store room and the other was in bad condition. We went off to prepare the following games that were planned long ago. We have a electric fence which was made using strings making it difficult for the scouts to cross over it. The main purpose of this is to introduce teamwork to each patrol, allowing them to understand one another better. Next we have the army rope which a rope that was tied to a tree whereby the scouts have to climb and touch the end of the rope. This is to test the physical strength and the technique of climbing such rope. Last, we have the leopard crawl which is designed on a muddy area which too disgusting to describe it. The scouts have to crawl across this puddle of mud blindfolded and the main purpose of it is to trust their patrol mates when it comes to such situation.

Pulau Ubin

Since i have not been doing much, i decide to contribute by blogging this in. Pretty funny i'll say before this actually happen. Planning have to come first right. Toh Wee and Eddie were planning and all of sudden the day before Eddie Got FITS! Haha.. all of the sudden huge responsiblity falls to me....(Actually i do not know why) Still I did my best by retriving certain important information of the plans by Eddie and started to investigate the parts. Toh Wee trusted us and let us plan the activities for him. Ah trust what a word.

Here comes that day, the day we set off so near... so near.. it is. My mind filled with anxiety and stress hoping that the activities will work. We cleared the items that we needed to use and here it began. I lifted my massive leg off the ground and took the very first step up the bus." Doom, i said, Doom" I took hold of the railing by the side and lift myself with hope and light.( Don mind my way of expressing myself) I paced step by step with a constant worry that whizzed pass my mind and there, i took a sit. I let my eyelids fall to my eyebags and "poof" i went to lalaland. "Bang"(I know what you are thinking but no) I hit the window glass and i woke up. Oh! Scouts are singing some songs (Usual Stuff..you will get bored doing so sometimes) A drop of water paste itself on the glass, i placed my hand on the glass. Is it my lalaland's effects? Drops came one after another. Darn! Rain! What rotten luck we have...Argh! We have reached and i came down the bus. We dashed out to cover while some of us help out by taking out the jellycans( I hope i spell correct)

Sharing session 4 Mar 2006

I was thinking whether to post this anot...

Today's meeting is a classic example of the serious repercussions of what I call "too little activities chasing too much time" or in another words, a serious activity shortage (an economic-like explanation). As a result, the attendance was about 50% and the meeting was just a TALKING CRAP session, (i.e. talking about the NYP thingy which is absolutely out of point).

What we did was mainly discussing about the activities we could propose in the future and how to make the activities MORE interesting. There are some activities raised such as Sentosa, bowling, Swimming, Ice-skating, "Laser-Quest", Archery, Wakeboarding, Kayaking, Hiking, backwoodman's cooking, natural wall rock climbing, PT session and more... All these activities are each taken care of by an in-charge to go recce or research whatever stuff they require and they'll be presenting that on the next EXCO meeting on 25 MARCH 2006. We've also discussed about the job week thing. Some of us suggested to wash car and sell goodies in MJR next week.

We had a 15 min interval for discussing somemore crap. I'm so sleepy.

Talk somemore and at around 11am ++ . Meeting ended and most of us went to play basketball.(perhaps that was the most interesting part of today's activity although we'll lost to thos NCC slackers.)
After that went to eat herbal chicken bef going home and ponning my lecture @ SAFRA Yishun haha.

Ok that's it enuff of all that skeptism in the writing but I seriously think that the EXCO should look into this issue on activities shortage critically asap!! lol

Scouting hasn't been a long run for me. So as you can guess, venturing was totally a fresh new thing for me. But it wasn't bad at all. There were times where things do get out of hand like what happened during our major activities last year. Strangely and luckily, we always can resolve them within the shortest period of time and the tightest of a situation. I think it always does because of a special bonding that is among the dedicated ventures. I believe that there's no organization that can offer me the most honourable relationship that I can get from the Red Fox. I was once a girl guide. And now I'm part of the scout movement. Never had i wandered away from all the excitment and joy that is constantly available in the organization. All the night cycling ( a pity i din attend it), rock climbing, canoeing and all the other activities are so bursting with fun. I guess its because of the company we have that makes every thing we do doubly enjoyable. We learn a lot of life experiences as well. Really, its never a regret for me since the day i became a venture. And i hope that after we have continued with our path, we will still remain as part of Red Fox Ventures. The blood still flows in our body.
